How far is it to the beach from Poipu Kapili #39?
The Poipu Kapili complex is located just across (little traveled) Hoonani road from the shore. The shore right at Poipu Kapili is lava rock, not a good place to enter the water. If you walk about 200 yards to the east along the shore you will come to Poipu Beach in front of the Sheraton Kauai and a public park (beaches are always public in Hawaii).
Do I need to bring beach towels and chairs?
We supply bath and beach towels for our guests, as well as beach chairs and sometimes, depending on who has been in the condo recently, you may find beach toys such as boogie boards, fins, snorkeling masks. Our guests often purchase inexpensive items and rather than packing them into luggage, leave them in the condo. Let's face it, how much snorkeling do you do in Edmonton. We appreciate the additions to our vacation condo.
How about maid service. Is it included?
Condo rental is a little different from hotel stays in that you are staying in what is essentially someone's home. Included in the price of the rental is a total cleaning between guests, however, we leave you to have privacy by not having a service disturb you every morning. You are free to leave socks anywhere you choose. In Poipu Kapili #39 is a small washing machine and dryer, which our guests find convenient to freshen up a few items such as underwear or bathing suits. We do ask, to help with our interguest cleaning that you begin a load of towels (and leave them in the dryer) just before leaving. For larger loads there is a larger washer/dryer facility in the complex.
How do I make a reservation?
You may make a reservation on this website. Just follow the link "Book It Now" to the property details page, where you will find another link to "Book It Now". This will take you to the availability calendar, which is always up to date. You can enter the dates you want to reserve and the website will prompt you for your contact information and ask for a deposit (20%) if it is greater than 60 days prior to arrival or the full amount if less than 60 days prior to arrival. Rest assured that our website is fully secured by a reputable Internet Commerce source. If you make your reservation online, not even the management/owners of Poipu Kapili #39 have access to your credit card numbers.
Is smoking allowed?
We are sorry but we do not allow smoking in our condo. Owing to new Hawaii laws the only permitted location for smoking is the parking lot.
Do I need to buy food and where can I get it?
There are two markets in Koloa town about three miles from the condo. Owing to our cleaning regimen in between guests, no perishable food is left over from previous guests. Some basics like salt, sugar, are left and we provide a starter set for coffee and tea. Many people stop at the markets prior to arriving at the condo to stock up. Please note that we will throw away food left in the refrigerator or cabinets so buy accordingly. There is also a new shopping center which is within walking distance (1/2 mile) from the condo which has a market as well as restaurants and shopping.
